Steering gear mechanism:

Steering gear mechanism: This steering gear mechanism is used for taking the multiple directions of wheels with respected to chassis.By the help of this we can move the vehicle in any directions.For most of the vehicles this is usually placed at front of the wheel axle.

Ex: it is shown in below about steering mechanism. The front wheel are placed over the front of the axles.

                        

From triangle IBP:

                            cot θ= BP/IP

 From triangle IAP:

                       cot α=AP/IP = AB+BP/IP=AB/IP+BP+IP=c/b + cot θ

             therefore. cotα-cot θ = c/b
