Different types of simple mechanism links

Simple Mechanism Links: The different types of simple mechanism links are used for motion transmission. There are three types of links used,

       1. flexible link

       2. Rigid link

       3. Fluid link

1. Flexible link: This type of flexible links does not effect in motion transmission 
                           Ex: belts, ropes 
2. Rigid link:  When there is a motion transmission this does not under go any deformation.
                          Ex: reciprocating steam engine
3. Fluid link: A fluid link is used to transmit the motion through the fluid by pressure or compression.
                         Ex: hydraulic presses, jacks
