Advantages of surface condenser over jet condenser

• There is a high vacuum obtained compared to the jet.
• Water used for cooling is reused without any treatment.
• For high capacity plants, it is More advantageous.
• In this Condensate losses can be eliminated.
• It required power for air pump is low.

Limitations:

• It requires more space than the jet condenser.
• The cost of maintenance is high.
• In this not much effective in steam and cooling water than the jet.
• This is a complex plant.
