Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Nucleation:
Homogeneous:
In this nucleation process, the nuclei process takes place at pure liquid metal and this grows up to solidification completes.
Heterogeneous:
In this nucleation process, nuclei process is done in the liquid at the interface of the nuclear agent. In this, the surface energy to produce nuclei heterogeneous is less than homogeneous nucleation.
With the help of liquid metal the solid nucleating agent must be wetted, it does not need cooling under large amount.
